State Bar

In 1988, David Bridges assumed the position of senior trial attorney for the State Bar of Texas in Austin. He relocated to the Dallas area in 1990 and served as Regional Counsel for the State Bar.
In 1991, he was named First Assistant and Chief of Litigation for the State Bar in charge of all attorney discipline cases. David Bridges is board certified in criminal law since 1989.
 
 


 

In 1990 I left the bench to move to Austin as General Counsel of the State Bar of Texas, then the disciplinary counsel.  One of the first members of the existing staff that I met was David Bridges.  David was then a staff trial attorney handling disciplinary cases.  We became good friends.

During my tenure at the State Bar I tried several cases, usually as second chair because I preferred to have the lawyer already on the case remain as the lawyer in charge.  I had the good fortune to get to try a really contentious case with David Bridges in Del Rio.  It was a great experience. The real lawyer in that case was David.  He did a great job.  We eliminated an errant lawyer from the bar. 

I shall always consider it an honor to have known David and tried cases with him.  He’s a fine lawyer and a great judge. I have always cherished the friendship David extended to me.
